Greetings all,

Laurent's talk was a great success. I forgot to get a tally of how many
people came in. It looked like 10-ish. The talk was very interesting,
Laurent had a lot of great ideas to share. The following discussion was
productive.

In any event, I just uploaded the IRC logs. You can find them here:

http://native-lang.openoffice.org/conference/

As I said, the discussion period was interesting and productive. Some of
the main conclusions were:

* We need a wizard installer for add-ons. Something similar to FontOOo.

* We should make it easy for people to submit addons.

* The importance of clear documentation. Ian Laurenson's work received
an honorable mention (ext.openoffice.org.nz).

* A call for the revival of the scripting project. Sophie, Laurent,
Agnes and myself are interested in contributing. Of course, we need
people who understand OOo's addon system (I don't). We hoped that Ian
Laurenson, Kevin Hendricks, Bernard Marcelly and Russ Phillips might be
interested.

Now, as for the /next/ talk, Kazunari Hirano from the Japanese NL
project will be speaking to us about non-profit organizations to support
FOSS development. This is a very interesting and important topic. I hope
to see you all there.

Cheers,
Daniel.
