Re: [native-lang] No E-Patents

sorry that I don't answer in the appropriate thread (Mail by 
Cristian Driga, 24.6.05 18:25) , but I wasn't able to reply to a 
message in digest format (Mozilla 1.7.6).

I'm a member of the german-lang project where we agreed on reacting 
to the fact that on July 5th the European Parliament is going to 
decide about "Patentability of computer-implemented inventions".

We think that the only way to fight against the lobbyists is to 
alert the public to that problem and force the politicians not to 
let pass this bill. For that reason we are writing a press report we 
want to send to as many news papers as possible.

There is just a few days to convince the politicians of the 
necessity of free software without fearing legal disputes about 
trivial software patents.

Because the problem of the patentability of software is not a 
national one it should have much more effect if the other European 
native-lang projects could try as well to inform their public and 
their politicians.

corrections.
