Impress files locked for editing

Hello,

I'm using Impress on OpenOffice 3.3. Each time I open a presentation
on Impress, I'm told the file is locked for editing, and given the
choice of opening it read-only or opening a copy for editing. I do the
latter. When I edit the presentation, I can't save it under the same
name (since, after all, it's locked just as if it were still being
used elsewhere) so I have to change the name to save my alterations.

I'm running it on my own computer, with no other users. I always close
Impress when finished with a presentation, and shut down my computer
appropriately.

What would you advise?
