I changed this line to get it working:

$Self->{'Customer::AuthModule1::DB::CryptType1'} = 'crypt';

To this:

$Self->{'Customer::AuthModule::DB::CryptType1'} = 'crypt';

And used 'login' instead of 'customer_id' as CustomerKey.
$Self->{CustomerUser} = {
     ...
     # customer unique id
     CustomerKey => 'login',

I need to test further but it seems to work, and no errors seem to appear.
