Hi Sujeeva, thanks for your answer. Yes, I found the logging configuration in the Admin Panel. Unfortunately, even with logging mode 'debug' activated there's no information about fetched mails except for their number. Not enough for the forensics I was attempting :-( I should have retracted my question when I found out. Thanks for the time you invested.
