I can't reproduce your problem.  I suggested:

> What you can do is add 'set -x' somewhere on the top of examples/test,
> and read the generated traces to see if you can spot the error and

Please do that.  Or replace examples/test with this one, and send
the examples/java/Calc.log file here.  TIA!
