I don't have the slightest idea what the problem might be.  Test 277 is really non-special (Midrule actions). Maybe this is something actually in the aftermath of 276, but it also looks mostly harmless, as Douglas Adams would put it.

I have still have some credit to spend on Bison, running

make check-local TESTSUITEFLAGS='276 278-'

will try to run 276 and all the others after 277.  Maybe that would help to see if the problem is in a test, or simply in the shell (test suite is really huge; 10 times larger than configure; test 277 starts at byte 2870355, which doesn't look very suspicious).

Maybe running 277 in verbose mode would show something in its log, but I doubt it:

make check-local TESTSUITEFLAGS='-x 277'
