I am going to keep poking until something is decided for note. ;-) What about using SQLite to store the intermediate representations? It has a number of benefits such as quick searching anywhere in the hierarchy tree, keeping the intermediate representation (possibly very large) on disk instead of in memory, etc... and so forth. Could abstract it out to handle normal in-memory representations too for systems that cannot or prefer not to link in SQLite. I had actually starting doing this same thing recently for my play-language and it is showing to be a surprisingly large boon. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Planet: dedicated and managed hosting, cloud storage, colocation Stay online with enterprise data centers and the best network in the business Choose flexible plans and management services without long-term contracts Personal 24x7 support from experience hosting pros just a phone call away. http://p.sf.net/sfu/theplanet-com
