I did compile it, quite a few times actually.  I also spend some time
constructing the simplest possible test case illustrating the error.

Definitions of functions only affect the linker, so when only checking
whether something compiles, I often don't bother including them.

It is broken as I described in version 67512 and still broken in
67527.  I just tested both versions.
