Thanks Hartmut, that made the difference. I had to make a local patch
to add the disambiguation for optionals manually, similar to how
you've done it. I haven't had access to Internet during the weekend
which is why I just got to it now.

You're welcome, and thank you too. I'd say it might be worth
mentioning this to 1.46.1 users and maybe releasing a patch for that
who might be running into the same problem with their code.
