OK sorry. That was careless of me. Good reasons for avoiding font tags 
and proliferation of tags in general is that with our dodgy parser, we 
can't do proper nesting. People therefore have to take a bit more care 
when they are being careless, ;) otherwise the parse breaks, some markup 
gets lost, and headaches abound.
