[cowiki-dev] IRC

Hi guys,

this is a one more INVITATION to the IRCNet channel "#develnet" where we
can talk about coWiki and other software, and where you may ask questions
if you have problems about coWiki, or if you want affront someone ;)

Or you may just idle and watch what happens.

IRC (Internet Relay Chat) was intoduced before "ICQ"s and "Messangers" and
is a very nice way to communicate. If your under 15 years of age and do not
know otherwise, you would call it a "chat room". Using IRC makes you mature
:) You'll appreciate this way of communication after a few days.

Depending on your operating system, you'll need different clients to join
such a channel:

 * For Linux I personally recommend "irssi" -> <http://irssi.org/>
 * If you are a Windows crack, <http://www.mirc.com/> will do it for you.
 * Hm, I have no client recommendation for Mac users now, but I am sure
   you'll find one

Why should you visit us?

Just because it's a _social come-together_ where we don't speak strictly
about the software problems, but just joking and just "talk" - if a problem
arises or something with the project or the PHP or Java language is not
clear, we'll try to solve it - and probably there is someone 24/7 in the
channel, who knows what's going on and can help.

The #develnet channel is located in the so called "IRCNet".

To setup your IRC client software, just choose the "net": here "IRCNet", and
then join the "channel" named "#develnet", say "hello" and introduce
yourself. You will meet us people, and you will see, we do not bite :)

PLEASE don't give up if you apparently see people in the channel, but you
get no answer, JUST stay in the channel until some wakes up :=) Conversation
in an IRC might sometimes be a long-term conversation as usually nobody
leaves thes room and everbody can read what you wrote two days ago and
answer on this.
