latest core update gives big problems

I installed/updated to 7.29 and all worked but now none of the views 
operate.
With 7.29 all views show an sql error so I installed 7.28 and tried that 
but I now cannot even save changes to views and the site is kaput.

Is there a way to rebuild the database even though I did not save it 
before updating to 7.29
