These are what I was trying (from the RHEL info from the page you linked, =
but for PHP 7.1 (rather than 7.2)):
he steps are as follows to enable and install PHP 7.2 on RHEL 7 using yum c=
ommand:
$ sudo yum install https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/epel-release-lates=
t-7.noarch.rpm
$ sudo yum install http://rpms.remirepo.net/enterprise/remi-release-7.rpm
$ sudo yum install yum-utils
$ sudo subscription-manager repos --enable=3Drhel-7-server-optional-rpms
$ sudo yum-config-manager --enable remi-php72
$ sudo yum update
$ sudo yum search php72 | more
$ sudo yum install php72 php72-php-fpm php72-php-gd php72-php-json php72-ph=
p-mbstring php72-php-mysqlnd php72-php-xml php72-php-xmlrpc php72-php-opcac=
he
I first run into that error at the "yum install yum-utils" step.

Hi,
Per my original post, I am on RHEL 7.9, rather than CENTOS.
I did see that that page had a separate set of steps for CENTOS vs. RHEL, a=
nd I am pretty sure that I did the ones for RHEL.
I will double check.

You've enabled a redhat repository which won't work if you're running
centos. Did you, perhaps, go through the "How to install PHP 7.2 on
RHEL 7" steps in the install instructions in:
<https://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/how-to-install-php-7-2-on-centos-7-rhel-7/>
referenced in the previous message? Some of those instructions are
duplicates of the centos ones, but a couple are redhat/rhel specific
and should be undone.
