Generating a Pot file from the source code

Hi everyone,
At last I have a shared hosting with GetText enabled.
So  here  is  my question: I have a backup of my website on my Windows
machine. How can I generate a .pot file to start translating?
Is it possible with PoEdit from http://poedit.net?
