_compile_if_tag Operators

Hello,

Im using Smary 2.3.1 an can't update because with newer versions
i ran into Compile Errors.

code:
{if $xxx ne $base."picture.gif" OR $xxx ne $base."picture2.gif"}

Is there a plan to add the "." operator, in one of the next Versions,
to the list of allowed operators in Smarty_Compiler::_compile_if_tag?
