Hi. I haven't re-read the manual in awhile and it seems that there have been a number of changes to the content. I'm sure they are mostly for the good, but some of them I find disconcerting. For example, I noticed here http://cvs.php.net/viewvc.cgi/smarty/docs/en/designers/language-custom-functions/language-function-assign.xml?view=annotate that the second given example (8.3) gives a "complex" assignment and states that "his complex example must have the variables in `backticks`". This information is incorrect. Backticks are only to be used within double-quoted values. They do work outside of double-quotes but that is not a specified behaviour (they are only specified to work in double-quotes) and they are actually redundant in this case. They are certainly NOT supposed to support math but they probably do. At anyrate, I'd rather see more discussion here before new material gets put into the manual. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Sucker-punch spam with award-winning protection.
