[SMARTY] HTML Select Date

I am trying to use the {html_select_date} function in my template, but I
have the following conditions that need to be met:

 

1.	The field names need to be FromYear, FromMonth, and FromDay
2.	The field IDs need to match the field names

 

To that end, I created a new html_select_date which allows me to call it
like this:

 

{html_select_date2 field_name="FromMonth,FromDay,FromYear"}

 

However, the IDs are not added.  I tried using the day_extra, month_extra,
and year_extra parameters, but I am having a hard time getting that to work.
So, my question is, given what I am trying to do, is it possible to do with
the standard html_select_date function, and if not, what do I need to do to
get my modified function to work?
