[SMARTY] deleting expired cache cachefiles

Hi all,

I was wondering..

Shouldn't the caching mechanism in Smarty delete expired cache files ??

I have a website where the cache folder ran full... Not the disk mind 
you, only the folder... ??

It is on a old project using version 2.3.1 of Smarty
