In the list of installed applications, there's an update button for each
application- which means that every single app can be updated.

Currently, you can only do an update based on an application bundle. An
application bundle is a .tgz that contains all needed package archives (.tgz)
the application is composed of, as well as the distribution and application
XML descriptors. A bundle can be created with the dev tool built into the
installer.

So basically, what can be done with the current 1.1.0dev1 release, is to
provide bundles of new app versions for download. A user then clicks on the
update icon of the specific application and imports the bundle to perform the
update.

We are still working on the online update feature. It will allow to check for
new versions of an application on a remote host, download and install it
automatically.
