a2ps tests filename for word START to determine type??

a2ps-4.13-1326.33 on SuSE 11.

I believe a co-worker discovered a yet undocumented bug/feature which a
Debian bug #126436 failed to resolve in 2001-2003.

=========Try this: note the name of the two files in example ===========
:~> vi startmeup

[type your name and save the file]

:~> a2ps startmeup
[startmeup (binary): ignored]
[No output produced]

Now try this:

:~> cat startmeup > notthesword
:~> a2ps notthesword
[notthesword (plain): 1 page on 1 sheet]
[Total: 1 page on 1 sheet] sent to the default printer
:~>

Any file name that has the word "start" in it, produces the issue,
reguardless of content.
Can you confirm?

I am trying to print a file called "startlive".  Changing the file name
without knowingly altering the contents resolves the issue.  Is is supposed
to be testing the actual FILENAME to determin if it is a binary?
