[HIGH] STR #4104: incompatiblity between cups 1.4.8 and 1.5.2

I have a Cnon Pixma IP1800 printer hooked up to a USB port of a PC running
Fedora 14 with cups 1.4.8 ( RPM ). I am able to print from other PCs on my
LAN running F14 and same cups and even from Windows Vista using IPP.
Enter Ubuntu 12.04 running cups 1.5.2 and when I try to print it complains
that it can not get the printer status. If I hook up the printer to the USB
port of the Ubuntu I am able to print.
Attached is the error_log file on the Ubuntu and a capture of the IPP part
of the communication between the Ubuntu and the F14.
