If you can make the tiff, you could try graphicsmagick -negate http://www.graphicsmagick.org/GraphicsMagick.html#details-negate

Is it possible to generate 1 bit tiffs as negatives to send to our platesetting system? I successfully generated positives. Taking the 1 bit tiffs into photoshop ad inverting the colors did not help.
If it is possible, what switch do I use? If not does anyone have an estimate how much work it would be to add that capability, or a modile I should look into to see about adding it? ( I can do some programming in C/C++)
