printing to epson stylus C64

Hi:

Could anyone help with regard to PostScript output on this printer?.

I've selected the stcolor device(and a few others!) having used the example
in the FreeBSD Handbook
(11.4.1.3 Simulating PostScript on Non PostScript Printers)as a starter.

Plain text works fine; the filter is being selected but any PostScript file
just prints 
a blank page. I have tried printing from gv and acroread; and also get the
same result
from within emacs.
