Hello friends, I'm an newbie to this list and would appreciate=20 some advice on a topic probabely discussed here over and over again - but googeling didnt solve my problem up= to now. I'm using Mac OS 10.39 - and have to create pdfs for download on the web qui= te often. I dont have a distiller - and the built-in-PDF-creator (accessible vi= a the printig dialog) seems to make quite big files (a 67-pages-doc with aroun= d 10 small black-and-white-graphics came out with 2,1 MB). I suspect, the big size partially comes from fonts which have been embedded several times. Therefore I wanted to use ghostscript's ps2pdf. So I created a PS-file with my LaserWriter-driver - called ps2pdf with the "/screen"-option - and ended up with a file double the size of the first pd= f (created by the built-in-dialog). Can anybody give me a few hints how to make proper pdfs using ghostscript on= a Mac? - Also some ideas to make the printing dialog more configurable (severa= l printer queues?) would be highly appreciated.
