Your edition should be better. I only disagree to put the term "hinting" into this context. This term represents a specific grid-fitting method used in Type 1, which is not applicable to True Type. Hinting is a transfer of an additional information form a human (a font designer) to the font renderer software. The information is "hints", which designate stem poles in the list of outline poles. True Type never had such thing. Due to that I removed the word "hinting" from your edition. I agree that many non-technicians use this term wrongly, but if we want to make it perfectly understandable by both technicians and non-technicians, we need a special separate article explaining the term. Adding more related changes to the patch. Please review them.
