API.htm example code clarification (bug 669654)

I've committed some basic instructions for using the API.htm example code within an IDE 
like MSVC. Bug 669654 was referred to me during a previous bug scrub as a documentation 
fixup; I think this clarifies all the remaining issue you brought up, so I'd like to 
close the bug.
