Bug 687241 Ghostscript version 8.13 fails

Bug 687421 for GS 8.13 is a duplicate of 687209 already fixed in 
HEAD by Igor.  Can I apply Igor's fix to the GS 8_1X branch with 
his log message.

I am getting several reports of this bug per week.  It is 
triggered by using -dTextAlphaBits=4, which is the default
from GSview.  The output from the Windows PostScript
driver can trigger this bug.

Is this serious enough to warrant an 8.14?
