I retract that.  It's appropriate as a "style" warning *if* we have to (or
choose to) leave the semantics of the request ambiguous.

But I've had such a hard time devising unambiguous ones that whether I can
pull it off remains to be seen.  I'll leave that in the scope of bug #68256.

For this ticket, the problem is only the issue that the formatter seems to
perceive the presence of garbage after the numeric second argument as a third.
