Please send your config.log and config.status files to this list.

Your configuration summary might also be helpful.  It's the part that
looks like this:

That was a defect of the .rc1 archive, but _should_ have been fixed by
.rc2.  Please confirm that you're still getting a 1.23.0 directory.  (I
don't; my builds install to $prefix/share/groff/1.24.0.)
