[ms] line spanning entire page between 2 columns?

I've been trying to get the following layout (represented best I can in
plaintext) with groff_ms(7)'s 2C mode:

Lorem ipsum dolor sit    laboris nisi ut ali-
amet, consectetur ad-    quip ex ea commodo
ipiscing elit, sed do    consequat.  Duis aute
eiusmod tempor incid-    irure dolor in rep-
idunt  ut  labore  et    rehenderit in volup-

	*hey a long line between columns!*

dolore  magna  aliqua.   tate velit esse cil-
Ut enim ad minim ven-    lum dolore eu fugiat
iam, quis nostrud ex-    nulla pariatur. Ex-
ercitation ullamco       cepteur sint occaecat

I've been trying with the .ll and .wh requests, but .wh is really giving
me trouble! maybe due to how ms handles the vertical position
internally?
