They might be now universally, but back in 2022 it was something we had
to ask for special support for, for groff.

I cannot determine when exposure of snapshot archives disappeared from
Savannag's CGit service for _groff_.

I found an email where I asked for a volunteer to file a ticket
requesting this.

Elsewhere in that thread you'll see Werner Lemberg (of Freetype, and
formerly groff maintainer!) joining the lament of snapshot archives.

I looked at a couple of the Savannah admin trackers, and could not find
a relevant ticket filed by barx (Dave Kemper) or myself, and we're about
the only _groff_ developers who bother with such things.  Maybe I didn't
look in the right place.

Some months later, I guess the snapshots were still there, because I
spoke of undocumenting them on the _groff_ home page.
