Dear colleagues we would like to invite you to attend the workshop on Free Composition (FREECO) held at the upcoming Onward!/SPLASH conference. Please note that the early registration deadline is approaching (September 23) and that you need to register for the workshop together with your SPLASH registration. In this workshop we explore the notion that languages should not offer a limited set of fixed composition mechanisms but rather allow flexibility, a wide variety of compositions, domain-specific and tailored compositions, or programmable compositions of various program artifacts. Besides the presentation of accepted papers, the workshop will also feature two invited talks given by Cristina V. Lopes (UC Irvine, USA), and Klaus Ostermann (University of Marburg, Germany). Participants are encouraged to submit their position statement which will not be reviewed but will be published on the workshop homepage. You are also invited to present your position statement in a lightning talk (5 to 10 minutes) during the workshop. I'd really appreciate it if you can forward this message to colleagues with an interest in moving the field of software composition forward. More information on the workshop format and program is available on our homepage: http://trese.ewi.utwente.nl/workshops/FREECO/FREECO-Onward2011 Would be fun to see you there!
