Workshops are a good venue for students to get initial feedback on their
first
research endeavors, and for more experienced researchers to brainstorm with
their peers about emerging topics in their field. Workshops are incubators
for
research. In contrast to conference technical tracks, where presentations
dominate Q&A and interaction, workshops have the potential to foster
spontaneous in-depth discussions of emerging research topics in a focused
community.

We hereby solicit proposals for workshops to be held in conjunction with th=
e
main Modularity'15 conference. We encourage proposals on conference-related
topics that are novel or of emerging importance. We stress the importance o=
f
active and creative workshops that promise to form a collaborative
environment
of interest to both practitioners and researchers. Workshops can be full or
half day, and devoted to a specific topic of interest in the modularity
domain
or in its neighborhood. Workshops should have a focused topic, provide
opportunity for lively discussion, and attract enthusiastic participants.

Workshop proposals will be judged on originality, relevance to
Modularity'15,
expected level of interest in the topic, and the organizers ability to lead
a
successful workshop.

    Notification: October 20, 2014
    Workshop websites up: November 1, 2014

Important Dates for All Workshop Papers:

    Workshop Paper submission deadline: January 12, 2015
    Workshop Paper notification date: February 2, 2015
    Workshop Paper camera-ready deadline: February 15, 2015

Submission Guidelines
A workshop proposal must be authored by at least two organizers, preferably
from different institutions, and should contain the following three
sections:

    About the Organizers
        Name: Organizers' full names
        Contact information: Affiliation, job title, postal address, email
                    address, URL, phone number, and fax number
        Brief biography: 100-200 words, focusing on the organizers'
expertise
                            in the field and experience as workshop
organizers
        Primary contact: Identify one organizer as the primary contact
    About the Workshop
        Title: Workshop title and acronym
        Abstract: 150-200 words describing the workshop, suitable for the
conference Web site and advance program
        Topics and motivation
            What are the topics, themes, and areas of interest of the
workshop?
            How is the workshop relevant to Modularity'15?
            How does the workshop connect Modularity'15 to other research
communities, if at all?
        Goals and expected results
            Explicitly state the goals of the workshop and how you intend
to reach them.
            What are the expected results of the workshop?
            How will these results be disseminated?
        Format
            What is the planned workshop format and length?
            What will be done to stimulate collaborative interaction?
            What are the planned pre- and post-workshop activities?
        Participants
            What is the expected number of participants?
            Explain why this workshop will attract a sufficient number of
attendees.
            Specify the participant selection process.
        Previous workshops
            Have there been previous workshops on the same topic?
            When, where, and how many participants?
        Required equipment: Overhead projector, PC projector, whiteboard,
flip charts, microphone, etc.

The conference organizers are negotiating with ACM to enable the inclusion
of
the workshop papers in both the electronic conference proceedings and in th=
e
ACM Digital Library. The inclusion of a workshop's proceedings in the
digital
library is optional and is at the discretion of each workshop's organizers.
However, for consistency we suggest each workshop request papers to be
submitted in ACM formatting (sigplanconf style, 9pt font size) and use the
following dates for submissions to meet ACM's publication deadlines:

    Workshop Paper submission deadline: January 26, 2015
    Workshop Paper notification date: February 16, 2015
    Workshop Paper camera-ready deadline: February 24, 2015

Note that the above requirements are for the actual workshop papers that
are to
be published by ACM not the workshop proposals, and such dates are still
temporary. Workshop proposals should mention these paper formatting
requirements in the sample Call for Papers, and have compatible deadlines.

Submission requirements
Proposals must be submitted in ASCII text or PDF format.

To obtain a balanced and cohesive workshop program, the Conference Committe=
e
will collaborate closely with workshop organizers and reserves the right to
circulate proposals to other submitters in view of possible workshop
mergers.
The organizers of an accepted workshop will be required to create and
maintain
a Web site in a timely manner to serve as a workshop information center and
to
provide a repository for documenting pre- and post-workshop activities.
Recommended paper submission deadline and notification deadlines will be
notified here when available.

How to submit
Workshop proposals must be sent via email to the Workshops Chair at
[email protected], and must be received no later than Oct 15, 2014.
Notifications to submitters will be made no later than Oct 20, 2014. By Nov
1,
2014, workshop initial web sites should be set up and notified to the
Workshops
Chair, and calls for papers should have been disseminated.
