My problem is I just did that a year ago ... was a lot of work and I could not tell there had been any movement, all of them looked a bit abandoned. I am going to try Castle and nAspect based off gregory's suggestion. With that many alternatives we really need a consolidation or consensus, at least a complete review of them we can all reference and comment on. -----Original Message----- From: Daniel Oskarsson [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, June 14, 2006 2:21 PM To: Corpening, Owen Cc: [email protected] Subject: Re: [aosd-discuss] Is there a standard .Net Aspect software package? Hi Owen. I agree with you that AO for .NET seems way behind AO for Java, as far as I know of there is no consensus for a AO "framework" for the .NET Platform. Perhaps you already know about it but in case you haven't visited it, aosd.net has a list of AO projects som of them target .NET. I fetched the full URL for you: http://aosd.net/wiki/index.php?title=Research_Projects It might be a good place to start searching for the best AO framework for the .NET Platform. Good luck! regards, Daniel Oskarsson Corpening, Owen wrote: > > Seems to me like .Net Aspect development fell off a cliff about 2 > years ago. > > Are any of the .Net tools still being updated, do any of them work > well, is there a consensus similar to AspectJ being a consensus of > sorts in java? > > I successfully used EOS over a year ago but I question whether any of > the .Net packages work of each new release of visual studio, and are > in any way supported. > > Open source?
