Will you be recognizing aspects in base-code of AOP systems or OO systems that do not *yet* contain any aspects? In either case, however, you probably want to look at the fields of "aspect mining" and "aspect refactoring." Although there is much work being done in both these fields, I am not quite sure if there is any work in recognizing aspects in AOP systems, possibility leveraging characteristics of existing aspects to help find new ones in the base-code.
