Hi Walter,

Depending on the priorities of your criteria the Object Teams 
Development Tooling might or might not be of interest for your 
experiment:

CON:
- we don't use AspectJ, but OT/J
- OT/J has no sophisticated pointcuts (our callin bindings basically
  correspond to "execution" pointcuts with no wildcards)

PRO:
+ comprehensive IDE implemented with extensive use of OT/J

>    - source available
+ version history available since 2003, usage of OT/J is since 2006

>    - different versions available
+ more than 70 (milestone) releases where defined. 
    Yearly releases basically in sync with Eclipse releases.

>    - bug list available and stranding the versions
+ Old issues at http://trac.objectteams.org/ot/report
+ Browse current and recent issues via
   http://www.eclipse.org/objectteams/support.php

>    - (desirable but not necessary) a test suite
+ Currently approx. 49000 tests (incl. original JDT tests).
