companies that develop software in C++

Could anyone please advise me if it is possible to find out the above 
information. My son who is studying at the University of The West of 
England in Bristol has to obtain a 12 month work placement in 
September as part of his 4 year sandwich degree and C++ is used 
heavily on his degree course. Many thanks in advance.
