Job Title: Senior C++ Developer

Department & Team: Testing

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Job Reports to: Group Manager

Job Summary: Experienced Senior C++ Developer needed. Must be able
to multi-task, work in a self-directed and self-motivated environment and
have the willingness to go all-out to meet critical deadlines on both an
individual and team basis.

Major Responsibilities/Activities:

Client relies heavily on simulation systems to test software. Such
systems must mimic real customer environments with calls coming in, faxes
going out, people answering the phone, calls being queued and distributed
to call center agents, etc. The Senior C++ Developer helps design such
simulations as well as the various tools and technologies required to
implement them.

- Acquire and maintain a deep familiarity with the client products - in
particular, their underlying architecture and the various APIs they
expose.

- Build, maintain, and extend the various tools and technologies used
to build simulations. These include interaction generators for calls,
e-mails, faxes, and text chats; tools to deliver DTMF tones and spoken
commands during calls; tools to automate client-side activity (e.g.
transfer a call); tools to associate server-side and client-side events
(e.g. incoming call routed to a particular user); tools to measure the
time required to complete an activity (e.g. time between when a call
enters a queue and when it is answered by an agent); tools to monitor
various system parameters (e.g. disk space, memory utilization, CPU
utilization, etc.) and report their values; dashboards used to report
exceptions during a simulation run (e.g. excessive CPU utilization,
latencies, event log errors, etc.)

- Work with Simulation Developers and other Simulation Architects to
design and implement the tools and technologies required to implement
simulations.

- Add scripting interfaces and other mechanisms to automate the
behavior of the client products in order to mimic real-world customer
environments.

- Create and maintain design documents for simulation tools and
simulations.

- Create and maintain reports detailing the performance of various
client products in simulations.

- Demonstrate initiative and creativity in using simulation to improve
the quality of client products.

Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical
engineering, or a related field is strongly desired, although equivalent
work experience may be accepted in exceptional cases. A master's degree
in computer science or electrical engineering is preferred.

Essential Physical Function: The Senior C++ Developer must have at least
five years' experience in software design and development. He or she must
have deep expertise with one or more scripting languages (e.g. PERL) and
one or more programming languages (e.g. Java, C#, C++). He or she must be
familiar with the Concepts of object oriented programming, real-time
applications and multi-threaded development.
