Job Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

We're looking for an experienced, self-motivated, and energetic 
software engineer to join our team working on platform 
infrastructure for Yahoo! Small Business Services. This position 
requires a fast-learner with a solid foundation in OO design, Perl, 
C++, & databases with good communication skills, and a strong sense 
of responsibility. A minimum of 3 years of related experience in a 
production UNIX environment, and a BS/MS degree is required. The 
ideal candidate will have experience with distributed systems, XML, 
databases (MySQL/Oracle) and web technology. Quality experience in 
C++/object-oriented programming on UNIX systems with proven track 
record to deliver quality products on time is required. Extensive 
experience building large scale distributed web applications is a 
strong plus. Interest and experience with HTTP, CGI, Apache, 
encryption, security and/or network programming is helpful. Typical 
projects touch on aspects of online web services, ordering and 
integrating billing components related to unifying hosting, e-
commerce, & other small business application suites, so any 
background in these areas is a distinct positive.
