Job - Senior Software Engineer - San Francisco

Our San Francisco client is the leading provider of retail digital 
video nationwide.   

As a Senior Software Engineer you will be providing technical 
leadership to the enterprise application development efforts in the 
engineering organization. These efforts are primarily geared towards 
the areas of media management, content distribution, provisioning 
systems and other business applications working in tandem. In your 
work you will be engaged in requirement analysis, design, development 
and sustaining engineering activities coupled with very strong 
collaborations across other engineering and operations teams. 

Nearly all of the enterprise development efforts involve Java/J2EE as 
the core platform; therefore it is absolutely important that you are 
superbly confident in all areas of multi-tiered enterprise Java 
development paired with strong database engineering areas including 
data modeling. This is not an entry level position; therefore apply 
only if you are looking for challenges of working in a senior 
engineering role. 

Working experience with distributed systems and web services is 
required. You must also be very well-versed with XML technologies. 
Application development, deployment and maintenance experience with 
J2EE application servers is a must. The ideal candidate will also 
have solid C/C++ experience with a strong basic computer science 
background. 

Essential requirements: 
o     Bachelorís degree in CS or equivalent 
o     7+ years of software development experience, 2+ years as a tech 
lead 
o     5+ years of multi-tiered enterprise application development, 
deployment and maintenance experience using J2EE technologies. 
o     Strong database design skills 
o     Extremely well-versed with XML technologies and web services 
architecture 
o     A solid C/C++ development experience is a plus 
o     A strong orientation towards basics of computer science and 
programming. 
o     Very strong collaboration skills across teams and organizations 
are a must.
