Job--Senior C++ Software Engineer Beaverton, OR

Job Summary:

GemStone Systems, Inc. is looking for a C++ engineer to work with us 
to advance our GemFire Enterprise C++ product.  We work on 
distributed locking/leasing algorithms, data partitioning, querying 
and indexing, filtered views, asynchronous persistence, Java 
interoperability, shared memory management, reliable multicast, and 
other distributed algorithms.  We need someone with experience in 
these areas, with a good ground in object-oriented programming, STL, 
and multithreaded programming.

Responsibilities:

* You will participate in specification, design, implementation, 
validation, evangelism, and support of new features in the product, 
as well as improving existing features and product performance.
* You will apply your knowledge of high-speed distributed systems, 
making innovative additions and changes to the GemFire product.
* You will work with a small team (4-8 engineers) on a daily basis, 
using Agile engineering practices.
* You will periodically help others to adapt our software to 
customer needs (infrequent travel may be required).
* You will work with technical writers and trainers to document your 
work.

Required Skills:

* BS in Computer Science or equivalent, with coursework in 
distributed systems.
* Expert C++ programming skills (4+ years concurrent programming, 
testing, and profiling).
* Proven ability to design, model, implement, and test high 
performance software for mission critical industries.
* Customer-focused history of designing, delivering, and supporting 
practical software products and target real world problems.
* Proven ability to master new technology and application domains 
(e.g. financial, scientific, and industrial).
