I have already done that
  and so every programer would be using his own wrapper
  I'm looking for some standard/widely used library (as we have libc for c) which provides such classes.

I need to do some multi threading and process sync in C++. I can do it
well in C under Linux but I do not know which classes to use to create
a thread object under linux. 

I'm using following

ide : eclipse with cdt 
compiler : g++
os : redhat linux 9
kernel: 2.4.24

Please give your suggestions.
