Position: Software Engineer (C++ and Unix)

 
Our client is looking for an individual who enjoys each step of the Software Engineering process and who is looking to use the latest software technologies and tools to advance our company and their own understanding of software systems.  The key ingredients are the ability to learn and a passion for Software Engineering

 

      This position is for a person who is a heads down coder and has written code from scratch, not for someone 

      who is used to maintaining code only.   

Responsible for design and implementation of System Software products on Windows 2000/2003 and UNIX.   
Be part of a team working on the latest software technologies used to build leading edge software products.  
Must be able to work independently as well as within a group.  
Attention to detail, positive attitude, ability to learn and be challenged and take pride in quality and timeliness of  work.  
Must have “demonstrated knowledge of and expertise” with C/C++ on Microsoft Windows and UNIX.  
Experience with .NET engineering using C# and  development on Open VMS is a plus as well as knowledge of SQL and database programming.  
Company uses Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 with Visual C++ (Visual Studio) 2003 or 2005, SourceSafe, COM, OLE, ADO, MFC and RPC.  
Familiar with object-oriented programming methodologies and design.  
BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
An oral and a written test will be administered during the interview process to better understand the candidate’s subject content knowledge in areas of importance.
