Hmm, ok, so I've just gotten my TOGAF cert= ified architect thingy, and that just means that you've learned to recite a= book full of definitions from memory. It has little practical footprint. W= hat good are definitions and concept if no one is able to tell you how it i= s supposed to be implemented? I get the same feeling here. I would answer yes to my question: just use whatever is available in the up= stream model. Basically the downstream model extends the upstream model, an= d is allowed to call and use all its entities and domain services directly.
