Can you give an example? > Someone posted > awhile ago a question of "can you have XP without talking about > programming?" Yes, we do it also most every day. Programming is but one > of our activity in the SOP. It seems to me that any discussion of how programming is carried out should be limited to explaining how/why a certain management practice might be good or bad when wrapped around XP. We certainly don't need to talk about it for it's own sake and we could politely suggest that such discussions be taken elsewhere if any should occur. As I said above, I haven't noticed them... which doesn't mean they haven't happened. Is it possible that some of the posts you are talking about were intended for a valid management-related purpose? > It's an important one no doubt, but for the business person it is one > handled by the developers and their management, several levels below our > discussion. OK, this is a surprise to me. It's the management of the developers that I'm most worried about. Those are the folks who have a tendency to impose methodologies rather than look at results - not upper management. I was not aware that this list was only intended to look at a certain level of business management. Can someone explain which management issues are relevant and which aren't? > XC seems to be the place where these types of exchanges can take place. > What's needed now is more outsiders with business POV's to join. Can you say more precisely what kinds of people would help? Charlie Poole [email protected] www.pooleconsulting.com www.charliepoole.org ------------------------ Yahoo!
