"Why Transformation Efforts Fail"

Just finished a lunch "brown bag" lunch seminar where "Leading Change:
Why Transformation Efforts Fail," John P. Kotter Harvard Business Review
on Change. This is a very useful piece describing how change is
difficult, how to deal with these difficulties, and how executives need
to approach making changes. Once the felt need is identified fro
something like XP, the process of making the necessary changes is
outlined. In the end simply saying things like "you need to change, and
I have the answer" leads to utter failure at the executive level. Read
Kotter for some insight.

 

In the same book is "Building Your Companies Vision," and "Managing
Change" those are next months Brown Bags.
