I like 90 minutes with a 10 minute break in the middle -- something like
40, break, 40. I find that working for longer than 40 consecutive
minutes is tiring and risks spending too much time typing and not enough
time reflecting.

If I'm limited to those choices, I use similar skill, meaning ability to
learn. I want to pair, in part, because I want to benefit from
differences in experience. I learn more tricks that way, even if
occasionally I get into a design fight. :)
