That's about right, though I was expressing a hope more than a 
"should" (many organizations include people who strongly 
influence projects on which they do not directly participate). 
Mostly I was expressing a hope that their objections not 
influence your projects much, or a possibility that you could 
arrange things to that their objections influence your projects less.

And if you can continue to value their contributions, that will 
give them a safe vantage point from which to observe how well 
your team does, and how much fun you have.
