The XP Game (also known as the "Balloon Game") is a fun simulation game that allows developers and customer to experience how XP releases, stories, estimating, planning, acceptance tests and velocity work. It's ideal as a follow-up to an introduction to XP, especially to try out and experiment with customer-developer communication and negotiation.

The game doesn't require any technical knowledge, so everyone in your team/company can join in. During the simulation everybody gets to play both the developer and customer roles. The game element makes this a great team-building excercise.

The XP Game is free. You can download all the necessary documentation and materials from http://www.xp.be/xpgame/. Just add a few decks of cards, dice, hourglasses, balloons, pens and a few people who want to learn more about XP while having fun. See http://www.xp.be/xpgame/newversion/ for a list of changes from the previous version.

If you have any questions, feedback, ideas for improvement or need help in organizing this simulation, contact the authors, Vera and Pascal.

Have fun ! And tell your friends.
